First impressions are everything – at least when it comes to selling your home. According to the National Association of Realtors, 63 percent of homebuyers will drop by after viewing a home they like online. What will they see? The home's exterior – including the front entry, yard, driveway and sidewalk -- should serve as a snapshot of what's to come when potential buyers enter your home. Walk around your home like a buyer because buyers pick out every detail. It sounds crazy but at least make sure your garage is neat or make your piles neat. Look at your windows--are they clean? Is the mulch fresh? Are your flower beds and plants lush and green? Make sure your children put their toys away--Make sure your tools are put away too.
A good idea is to drive by your home very slowly to see if you would stop and look! Anything even on the sides of the house that should be cleaned or put away? Is your roof in good condition? Are you missing any shingles? How's your mailbox? Are your house number nice and shiny?
Make a budget and see what's important to clean or repair. Is your driveway in good condition? Does the sidewalk need some repair from cracks? Do you have a wood deck that should be power washed?
